Mashpee – Lisa M. Taylor, MD, Medical Director at Community Health Center of Cape Cod has been awarded recertification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

Mashpee – Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center has a new name: Community Health Center of Cape Cod. The name change comes at the same time that the staff at the Health Center is preparing to see patients in its newly constructed facility in Mashpee.

Mashpee – Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center has welcomed a new physician to its staff. Anna Hallemeier, M.D., board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, is seeing patients at the Health Center’s office in Mashpee.

Mashpee – In just 18 months, Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center successfully completed a capital campaign to fund its new facility in Mashpee. The Health Center raised over $5.5 million exceeding their $5.25 million campaign goal. The widespread support from individuals, businesses, foundations, community groups and a $500,000 Kresge Foundation Challenge Grant made this possible.

Woods Hole – On Saturday, June 30, more than 150 people came out to enjoy a summer evening by the sea and support the work of Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center.

Mashpee – With an August 31 deadline looming and a half a million dollars at stake, officials and volunteers at Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center are pulling out the stops to raise funds for construction of its new medical facility. August 31 is the date by which the Health Center must raise a total of $4.75 million to receive a $500,000 grant from the Kresge Foundation. As of June 12, there is $521,000, or just over 10 percent, left to raise.

Mashpee – With the proceeds from community services activities such as car washes and bake sales, the Quashnet K-Kids have made a $500 donation to Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center’s new building in Mashpee.

Mashpee –Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center will host its annual fundraising event on Saturday, June 30. Summer by the Sea will be held at the J. Erik Jonsson Woods Hole Center of the National Academy of Sciences.

Mashpee –Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center has elected four members to its Board of Directors. They include: Lorna Doyle, of Mashpee, a retired nurse; Patricia Harris, of East Falmouth, a retired guidance counselor; David Peterson, of East Falmouth, Vice President of Cape Cod Aggregates; and Dale Weldon, MD, of Falmouth, an obstetrician/gynecologist.

Mashpee – Bernard E. Maney, MD, of Mashpee, was honored with the Distinguished Service Award by the Tufts Alumni Association (TUAA) for his years of volunteer and leadership service to Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center. The award was made at the annual alumni awards dinner on April 28 in Medford. The Tufts Alumni Association is comprised of 80,000 graduates from each of Tufts’ eight schools.

Mashpee – Aware of the fundraising challenge that lies ahead, yet confident that the community will recognize the need and support the project, officials of Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center and the Town of Mashpee broke ground for the Health Center’s new building on Tuesday, April 3. The building will be located on Commercial Street, off Route 28 in Mashpee, on land that the Town has provided to the Health Center under a 95-year lease.

Falmouth –“Rare artist…strong poetry, complex melodies, clever wit.” That’s how Sing Out! Magazine describes folksinger-songwriter Cheryl Wheeler, who is returning to Falmouth for a benefit concert for Falmouth Family Planning.

Mashpee – Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center has joined an elite group of non-profit organizations from throughout the world that have been awarded a grant from The Kresge Foundation. The $500,000 grant, for the Health Center’s new building in Mashpee, will come through The Kresge Foundation’s Capital Challenge Grants program, which requires organizations to reach the majority of its fund raising goal before the funds are provided.

Mashpee – A $100,000 gift from the Robert and Myra Kraft family has helped to bring the Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center over the $3 million dollar milestone in its Capital Campaign to raise funds for a new building. The Health Center is building a new 10,000-square foot facility off Route 28 in Mashpee on land donated by the Town. The $5.25 million project is being funded entirely by charitable donations. $3.12 million has been raised to date.

Boston – Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center has been selected as a Massachusetts 2006 Catalogue for Philanthropy charity.

Mashpee – With pledges and support from area banks, foundations and individuals, Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center has announced a Capital Campaign to fund its new 10,000 square foot facility in Mashpee.

Falmouth – Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center has named a new director of its Family Planning program. Megan Luizzi, of Falmouth, recently joined the Health Center’s staff to manage Falmouth Family Planning, which provides reproductive education, outreach, and health services.

Mashpee – Two primary care providers have recently joined the staff at the Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center at its office in Mashpee.

Falmouth – The Falmouth office of the Cape Cod Free Clinic & Community Health Center has moved to the Homeport office complex at 210 Jones Road, Falmouth. The office is located in Suite 22.
